Mardi Gras: Saturday Canceled

St. Francis, LA — Torrential downpour, thunder and lightening canceled Saturday’s ultimate contests at Mardi Gras. A large storm cell, that spawned at least one tornado 70 miles southwest of the fields, barreled across Louisiana today. The storm began last night as a light drizzle but blossomed into a thunderstorm by morning. First round games were pushed back two hours due to lightening and crossover games were eliminated. The modified schedule allowed some first round games to be completed.

Rain continued to soak the fields during the modified first round and second round games were delayed at noon. At 12:30 pm, games were canceled for the day due to large puddles on the field and driving rain. Tournament directors will determine the playability of the fields tomorrow morning.
