MUtants vs. Apes of Wrath

The Missouri MUtants fell victim to Oklahoma’s Apes of Wrath, losing, 13-5.

The teams traded a pair of points to begin the game. Missouri kept themselves in the game early by getting several layout d’s on Oklahoma. However, the MUtants were unable to capitalize on their momentum and kept pace with Oklahoma by giving them an equal amount of unforced turnovers.

Oklahoma utilized that mistake to get two pairs of breaks and take half 7-3.

“There were a lot of turnovers early in the game, said Matt Francis, Missouri captain. “It felt like whoever could get a break first would get a run. Unfortunately, they got it first and we couldn’t recover.

In the second half Oklahoma mixed up their offense and rotated their receivers. Mike Rice, Kevin Christian, and Matt Carney all scored at least once on deep receptions.

“Everyone is comfortable switching positions,” Carney said. “It is rewarding to see practice paying off in game time situations.”
